Welcome to the Milton Keynes Jelly!
The Jelly is coming to Milton Keynes! We know that ‘Jelly’ is a funny name for anything apart from the wobbly dessert, but actually, it’s a great way of people getting together to work. Rather than explain it all ourselves, the UK Jelly team have put together their FAQ’s…
What is a Jelly?
A Jelly is an event where people bring their laptops and come to work in a central venue. It’s taken place in over a hundred cities where people have come together (in a person’s home, a coffee shop, or an office) to work for the day.
Why a Jelly?
Jelly started in NYC in February of 2006 when roommates realized that they loved working from home, but they missed the creative brainstorming, sharing, and camaraderie of a traditional office.
So they started inviting friends to work from their home one day a week. They soon found that working in close proximity to new and interesting people resulted in new ideas and interesting conversations.
Emboldened by their early success, they made it a more regular thing. Jelly was born.
Who can come to a Jelly?
We tend to run Jellies for businesses in the local area – but everyone is welcome.
Now, our bit…
When is the next Milton Keynes Jelly?
The Milton Keynes Jelly will be held on the 4th Thursday of the month, commencing 26 January 2017
Christmas Jelly To be arranged
Is there a cost?
The Jelly is free to attend and you just pay for your own coffee/lunch. It’s a not for profit event run by local businesses to get local businesses together – giving you the opportunity to network whilst working.
We’ll be holding it at:
The Cross Keys
34 Newport Road
The Jelly starts at 9.00am and generally runs to school pick up time – but you can stay all day. Or, just pop in for a coffee and a chat or come for lunch – the choice is yours.
Who’s running it?
The Jelly is being run by the Milton Keynes Businesses Team – join us at https://www.facebook.com/groups/MiltonKeynesBusinesses/ – for support and help in the Milton Keynes Area or email email@example.com
for more details. We’re hoping the group will become the place to share your offers, events and expertise with other Milton Keynes Businesses – and that we’ll be getting together regularly to network at jellies and other events.
